Our Journey

We invite you, our friends and families to follow along with us on our journey to bring home the newest additions to our forever family. I believe everything happens for a reason and I know that the newest additions to our familiy are out there somewhere waiting for us to be matched. We have followed our hearts and that has lead us on a wonderful journey to a wonderful country "Ethiopia". We look forward to the day when we are able to finally go and meet in person and bring our littleones home forever.

We hope you can all be here with us through the tears and laughter as we move through our adoption journey.

love & kisses

Good-bye my dear friend

Yesterday we said goodbye to a special part of our family. Winston had been with me for 12 years and was truly the best dog a person could have asked for. My how how family grew Winston and you where there with me every step of the way. Your where a very loyal and loving companion and you will be deeply missed. There is a void in our home that will never be filled. I hope that you are finally at peace and free from pain. Maybe now you are able to run free again with your old pal Justice.
We love you deeply and you will always be remembered.

Donations while in Ethiopia

While in Ethiopia we tried to make donations to several orphanages and organizations that we thought did great work within Ethiopia. While there is so much need we did find it hard to spend the amount of money we had brought with us in the amount of time we had there. Here are a few pictures of our donations and the organizations they went to. All are worth checking out and possible making a donation. Many have gift options to give to those hard to buy for individuals.

Really! Has it only been 2 months?!?!?!

It is really hard to believe that this was us 2 months ago.

In some ways it feels like we have been together forever and other ways it is so hard to believe that 2 months have already passed by.

The kids are adjusting so well and learning new things each day. They are experiencing so many first that it must be so overwhelming for them yet they tackle each new thing with a smile on their face. They are amazing kids.

Here they are meeting Santa for the first time. Abdeta was not sitting on his knee so mom and dad had to join in.

Poor Santa's got his hands full and little A can hardly keep his eyes open!

I finally found the time to get our official letter of complaint off.

I sure hope he takes the time to read this or someone does.

Dear Mr. Jason Kenney,

This letter is in regards to our recent experience with Immigration and Citizenship Canada. Please accept this letter as an official complaint in regards to the handling of our adopted children's Permanent Residence Visas.

Our file arrived in Nairobi in October of 2009 and we did not receive our Permanent Residence Visas until September 2010. The communication during this time was horrific, if existing. We cooperated and followed through with all requests and even after we proved that the children were true siblings by DNA samples they came back to us with further questions. The letter they responded with was filled with inaccuracies and errors. They were unable to spell our children's names or our family name correctly. They said that if we did not pay the "above mentioned fee" within 90 days, they would assume we no longer wished to continue with our application. There was no "above mentioned fee", and in fact, there was no fee required of us. This letter , dated August 19th, also asked us to confirm the location of **** orphanage and if it even existed. Why is it that they needed to ask this question when they themselves were sitting in the office of **** orphanage just weeks before this letter was sent? They went to the orphanage and discussed our children's file with the director. While in Ethiopia, I heard countless stories of how CIC staff were in Ethiopia and investigating our file but were treating the people of Ethiopia with complete disrespect and contempt. Is this the way the people of Canada would like to be represented? This is not the image I would like left behind and I do not appreciate having to apologize for the actions of our government employees while in another country.

I would also like to know why we were not notified that our Visas would only be valid for 3 weeks? From my understanding Visas are usually valid for several months allowing people a window of opportunity to travel to the country and pick up their children. We discovered once we were in Ethiopia that our children's PRV's would be running out within days of arriving in country. Was this a malicious act in response to us going public with our story?

I strongly believe Immigration and Citizenship Canada need to be held accountable for their actions. They are dealing with the lives of children. Their communication must be accurate and detailed and completed in a timely fashion. Our children had to endure months of unnecessary institutional time as a result of these delays and inadequate communication. This is time that they will never get back. I ask that you please see that children's files are prioritized and children are not kept from their parents any longer than necessary.

Thank you,

Snow!

Oh the excitement of seeing snow. The squeals you could hear around our house this morning. Almaz loves sticking her whole face in the snow laughing the whole time. Abdeta on the other hand does not like wearing his mittens and likes the cold snow on his hands even less. And, Cohen loves the snow just as much this year as last year.

2 months

Has it really only been 2 months? Some days I feel like we have been together forever yet others it feels like we just got home. The kids are both doing so well and are absolutely amazing. They are so happy despite everything they have been through. What a remarkable pair. Almaz is so good at sharing and loves to sing and do crafts. Abdeta is a bitt of a character and likes to try to push everyone's buttons but is such an affectionate little boy. He can go from throwing a temper tantrum to smothering you in kisses before you know it. He loves cars. dogs and dancing. He has been sick this past week so sleep has been limited. Cohen is starting to settle into the middle role and you can actually find him and Abdeta playing every once in awhile. I think it has helped to have him and Almaz at home different days sometimes so it gives them a chance to play 2 on 2 and have some alone time with mom.

Just a couple pictures of the happy halloweener's. They where not quite sure what to think of our little event but they soon caught on and thought it was pretty great!

One month as a family.

Us as a family in Ethiopia.

Us as a family yesterday.

A month ago Almaz and Abdeta joined our family. That day was a day I will never forget. I was very worried how they would react to coming home with us and if they would cry or be afraid of us. They where both ready and waiting when we got there. We met some other kids that we had taken packages for and took pictures of the kids with their caregivers and then headed back to our guesthouse to get familiar with each other. We had our first baths and just hung out and had fun. Later that night we went out to a traditional Ethiopian restaurant for supper. Almaz even got on stage and danced. It was a nice night but made for a very long day.

1 month ago today we met A & A for the first time.

It is hard to believe that a month has passed already yet so much has changed and happened in that month that it is hard to imagine it has only been a month!

Here they are the first day we met them. They where so shy and unsure, especially Abdeta.

and here are a couple pictures from today...

They have both changed so much. They have both gained weight and their faces have filled in nicely. Their skin and hair both look healthier and they are both adjusting quite well. Don't get me wrong, there are some very big challenges but we think they are doing quite well. The kids are starting to learn how to play with toys and Abdeta can be put down for a few moments at a time now without getting upset. Almaz is very slowing starting school and her and I went 2 morning last week. This week she will try 2 mornings again but without me. Cohen is back going to kindergarten and loving it. I think it has been really good for him to have something of his own. Now to try to find time to have one on one time with each of them. I will have to get creative.

I will try to get posting more regularly but it may not be so easy as Dale starts back to work tomorrow so we will see how well I can juggle 3 needy kids..lol.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Home and settling in.

We are home and settling in as a family of 5. It is taking time, but everyone is trying to find their place and figure out where they fit in. Ethiopia was amazing and emotional. Part of me never wanted to leave and another part of me couldn't wait to get home. I can't wait to find the time to write more about our trip. We did and saw lots while we where there but I think the best family thing we did was to go to swimming at the Sharaton Hotel. We had so much time the first time that we had to go back again. The only thing that would have made it better was if it was a weee bitt warmer out.

A couple pictures of the kids at the Sharaton.

This Is It. . .

. . . The day they come home! I believe they are in Frankfurt at the moment, waiting to board their flight to Toronto! Woooohooooo! Yeeeehawww! Hoooray!! (Can you tell my family and I are VERY excited?? We have spent hours perfecting our posters and talking about what everyone's reactions might be. . . )

I just wanted to sign off and say. . .

Welcome Home Landega's! Thank you for letting me post some of your updates and your family picture while you were in Ethiopia! See ya soon!!

More From Ethiopia. . .

September 13, 2010

Right now Abdeta will not go to anyone other than Dale or myself and sometimes Ketema (our driver / guide). Someone tried to take him from me today and he grabbed hold of my shirt and screamed until he stopped trying. Everyone here is amazed at how well he is doing as usually he will not go to anyone new. The only place he will let us put him down is when we are at the guest house.

Cohen and Almaz are so cute together and are inseparable. It's funny but our Ethiopian girl does not like Ethiopian food! Lol! She loves pasta! We went for a traditional meal and show and Almaz got up and danced in front of a packed house (due to the Ethiopian New Year). She is a great dancer and had Cohen dancing in the aisles.

By the way, I have the Visas in hand! YAHOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

Update From Ethiopia!

Hi all. . . it's Donna's friend Lisa. Donna has asked me to post updates to her blog while they are in Ethiopia. I know you've all been waiting to hear something and I'm so sorry I'm behind! I wanted to confirm that Donna still wanted me to post (we made these plans WAY back in November when they first thought they'd be travelling) but this morning I got the go ahead! I'll try to get everyone caught up on how they are doing!

September 11, 2010
Just a quick email to let you all know we made it. We had no problems and everything arrived with us. We are all very tired and off to meet A & A in about 30 minutes.

September 12, 2010
Well, we met them yesterday and it was everything we could have dreamt of and more. Almaz ran into my arms and Abdeta did not even cry when they handed him to Dale. They are absolutely amazing. It was like seeing a picture come to life. Words can not describe it. I think we finally all got a decent rest last night and we are heading out right away to pick them up. We will try to write more later as the internet has been down the last 2 days but is finally up and running. Everything has been shut down due to the New Year yesterday.

Wednesday, September 8, 2010

It is almost here....

I can't believe that the time has finally come that we will soon be together. We leave in the morning and will be in Ethiopia by Friday night. Saturday (Ethiopian New Years we should be able to meet A & A for the first time. I can hardly believe it! Someone pinch me! LOL!

I am so full of so many emotions and thoughts that I hope one day I will be able to express but for now I must go pack the last few things and attempt to get some sleep.

Take care and I will try to keep you posted!

Friday, September 3, 2010

Thank you

Thank you to all those who provided support to us. Be it signing the petition to collecting tonnes of sigs, to listening to me rant, sending letters, keeping the drive going when I thought that I was too tired and beaten down to fight......without the help of so many great people we don't know what might have happened. I said it on the radio and I'll say it again we are so fortunate to have so many great people in our corner.

hugs!

It's true......

We are off to Ethiopia in 7 sleeps!!!!!! Wishing it was sooner but thankful it is soon. Off to pack!

Happy 2nd birthday little boy!

I can hardly find the words to express my thoughts and feelings....I cannot believe that another birthday has passed and still we are not together. I hope that you are being taken care of and that you and your sister are loving each other. Please know that we love you both so much and can't wait for the day when we can make up for all the lost time. One day we will be together and until that day hold on to the dream of a family.

TIRED....

I'm tired..... Oh so tired....tired of waiting....tired of fighting....tired of trying to get someone to listen....why does everything need to be so darn hard and complicated!?!?!?!?!?

One year ago............

One year ago we saw your faces for the first time and it was love at first sight.
Who could have thought that a mere picture could make me fall head over heals in love.
The moment I say your faces I knew it was meant to be and that one day we would be together.
We have watched you both grow and change so much over the past year.
The time we have lost is time we will never get back, but we have lots of time to still be together. Please know that while you where there waiting for us we where doing everything we could to bring you home.
You are loved so much and one day we will be together.

Love mommy

update

Sorry for the lack of news but unfortunately there has not been anything until just recently. The children's DNA samples where taken today and should be on route to Canada to be processed. The timeline for delivery and processing is about 2.5-3weeks. So hopefully we will know more by the first week of July. Please pray and hope for a positive result. I know I sure am!

Saturday, May 22, 2010

ummmmmmmm, let me correct that........

our file is still in Nairobi but now assigned to an officer?!?!?!?!?!? I could have sworn that happened in November................sigh....................

Saturday, May 15, 2010

What's going on?

Well, I have headed back to work while we await this mess to be fixed. In the meantime we have proceeded with the sibling DNA testing and have found out that our file has been assigned to someone in Ottawa to be reviewed. We hope to hear something from them mid June. Hopefully if we can keep the pressure on then we can get some sort of answer sooner rather than later. AS for the DNA....it could take months. We have been told that there could be up to a 6 month wait just to do the test in Addis so hopefully H can pull through for us and get ours expedited.

Here is some information regarding sibling DNA that makes us wonder why they are making us waste our time and money........

Limitations of Sibship Testing
In paternity and maternity testing, there are certain obligatory paternal and maternal genes which must be present in both the child and his/her biological parents. Obligatory genes are genes which must be present in order for a positive relationship to be established. This allows conclusive results for all parentage testing cases. The limitations in sibship testing lie in the fact there are no obligatory sibship genes. Therefore, even if none of the genes examined are shared by two siblings in a sibship analysis, it cannot be concluded that the two people are not true siblings. This is because the inheritance of genes from the parents is a random event. Thus, it is possible that by chance, less than 50% of the genes are common or maybe even none of the genes are shared. Thus, even if two people do not share any of the genes examined, we cannot conclusively state that they are not true siblings. This can be compared to the tossing of a coin. Theoretically, when a coin is tossed the chances of getting heads or tails would be 50/50. However, we do not always observe a 50/50 ratio. If a coin is tossed six times, theoretically, we should observe heads 3 of the six times and tails 3 of the six times. However, it is possible, though unusual, that we would observe only heads or only tails all six times.

This information was found on the following DNA lab website: http://www.genetrack.com/sibship.php

The words of a 4 year old....

To the Honourable Jason Kenney
Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism

April 29, 2010

Dear Mr. Kenney,

(In the words of our 4 year old)

Mr. Gentleman

I hope my brother and sister come home. And I hope you will let them come home as I would really like them here! I am 4 years old and every day I ask for my brother and sister and want them to come home this minute. I am trying to be patient but I just don't know why paperwork takes so long. I have tried helping by drawing lots of pictures so my mom has more paperwork.
It makes me sad. I have presents for them to open.
I hope you get them out of Opiopia

I really, really. really want them to come home right now so I can teach my brother and sister how to play hockey and ride bikes and soccer and basketball and give the dog some treats and love the dog and play in dirt and read books and hope them have everything they want and never had in this warm cozy house.

Hope you let them come home right now.

cohen

I am humbled

I am humbled and truly thankful for all the kind words we have received and the letters of support.

Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to send a letter on our behalf.

We are truly blessed!
Donna

Anyone in need of a plumber?

C'man and I came home the other night to a kitchen floor full of water. It seems that the dishwasher drainpipe had come off and all the dishwasher water ended up in the cupboard and on the floor. As soon as the water was cleaned up my litter plumber was in there assessing the damage. He was even trying to get the right pieces together with the right tool! (Note the handy Manny flashlight 'flicker' by his knee)
Unfortunately he was not able to loosen the clamp enough and had to wait for his assistant to come home and help out............................

P.S......I can't believe it has been 10 months since we got to see the sweet faces of A&A for the first time.......

Friday, April 16, 2010

Yes, we are still waiting

I cannot believe that we are still sitting here waiting for answers. I think we are beginning to feel numb again. It is so hard to not be able to plan your life or know what each week will bring. Our MP's office is not getting the answers either so Monday our MP is personally going to go speak to the Minister himself....... We have to ope that this will bring some answers as to what will be the next step.

Friday, April 9, 2010

We got the reports........

We got the reports yesterday so now we just have to patiently wait for a response. No idea on a timeline, but I am hoping that it will not be too much longer. A girl can hope right!?!?!?!?

Wednesday, April 7, 2010

Waiting for 1 more report.

We are awaiting one more report from E to have sent to Ottawa before they will decide if DNA will be required........This waiting is ridiculous, it is amazing how the weeks have turned into months, etc. Here's to hoping and praying......

Happy Easter to everyone!

I hope that everyone has a happy Easter filled with family, friends and of course CHOCOLATE!

Positive thoughts...

I know I have asked many of you in the past to pray for us or send us positive vibes...well, right now we need this more than ever. There is a CHANCE that things could change for the better in regards to our children's visas and in the next few days we should hopefully know more. I don't want to chance things by saying too much, but this could decide whether we will have to proceed down the long path of DNA or not.

For the sake of our children's futures please pray (or send good vibes) for us!

Thank you!
Donna and family

New recipe

I realized that lately I have only been posting about sad, depressing, bad news so I am going to try to post a little more often and about other things that are happening in our lives.

The other night (actually a couple weeks ago...not sure how the time has slipped by so quickly) I decided to try out a new recipe that I had seen in the Kraft Canada magazine. I was quite impressed with how it turned out and how good it tasted.....now know that I very rarely follow a recipe to the T and did change several things to make it an actual meal in one.

Tah Dah....

What a week this has been

Let's just say this this has not been one of our better weeks as a family. Last weeks news of further verifications along with our DNA request for the children was a little more than I was able to handle. The stress from the last little while was more than I think I could handle and in turn made me physically sick. I have been extremely emotional this week and can cry at the drop of a hat. The thought of having to go through with the DNA testing and the realization that this will likely take 6 months more was more than I was able to process. Tuesday was Almaz's 8th birthday and while we did bake a cake for her I was unable to even make it through supper. We did however manage to sing her happy birthday on Wed.
Today we had a meeting with our MP's office and armed with Imodium, gravel and aleve I was able to make it out of the house and advocate for A&A. I am very happy to say that the meeting went very well and even though I was not able to hold back my tears as I had promised myself I would we where able to tell our story, provide the facts and details of our case and we where heard! He is onboard and believes it is time for our kids to come home. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! He is contacting the ministers office Monday morning and we hope to hear back from him by the end of next week. I am hopeful that he can get some straight answers for us and hopefully get us some action.
I know I have asked you before, but PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE pray for us that we can find some resolution to this situation.
And now, I am off to go and find myself yet another box of kleenex.

Thursday, March 11, 2010

The wait continues........

All I can say at this point is the wait continues. We don't know alot but do know that they have more verifications to do.....and it could take up to 3 months......still trying to figure this one out and what to do next!

Tuesday, March 2, 2010

Now we wait

An email was sent on Friday to CIC with the information explaining the date discrepancy so now we wait and see if they will be satisfied with this information or if they will still want to proceed with the DNA test. We are really hoping that this information will be enough to answer their questions and they will proceed with issuing the Visa.....one can hope right!?!?!?!

Someone is missing his grandma and grandpa.....

My mom and her husband went down south for a couple months this year and C'man has started to REALLY miss them. The other night he was in tears that they had gone away without him. So I offered to take him to the lake to be there when they get home......he is soooo excited. He was up first at 1:30 am and then at 6:30 asking if we could go to the lake to see grandma and grandpa yet! LOL! It's going to be a long day as we are not heading out till later this afternoon. First we need to get groceries and pick up the van from the shop and then we can go. He even want to take his skates, hockey net and sticks so that he can skate on the lake just like in his book. We have settled on skates and helmet and poor Winston has to stay home with dad!

8 Months ago......

8 months ago we saw your faces for the first time.
8 months ago we fell in love with those same faces.
Today we still dream of the day that we are able to be together forever.
8 months ago we thought it would not be much longer till we would get to hold you in our arms.
8 months later our hearts ache for you far more than one could ever imagine possible.
Today we are still fighting to bring you home.

Please know we are doing everything we can to be together!

Love you always!

Big pile of nothing.....

So we got an update and our rep in E has the document in question but we still have NO answers! They hope to have a copy of the document emailed to them here in Canada by tomorrow! Why a whole week later?????? I am really ready to snap! I am so tired of never getting a straight answer from our agency that I could spit, scream, yell, UGH...you name it!
***Edited profanity out***
Deep breaths.....deep breaths.

I am however very happy to say that dear online adoption friends are finally getting to make the journey to meet their kids. We hit many bumps along the way but it is finally time that they get to go on ahead. Have a great trip you guys!

Wednesday, February 10, 2010

Some progress I think......

Could it be, could we actually be making baby steps?

Last night Nairobi CIC tried faxing us the documents we have been trying to get by any means possible since our agency did not bother keeping copies before they sent them to CIC. These documents are where the apparent date discrepancy is that is causing us such a delay. Well since no progress was being made by our agency I decided to stay up one night and try to get ahold of the inquiry line in Nairobi. Nairobi is 9 hrs ahead of us so for almost 3 hours I tried and tried and tried calling. I finally got someone who was willing (after a brief plea) to forward my call to a voice mail. I left our information advising them I was following up on an email I had sent a week earlier and low and behold that morning I awoke to an email from them. YAY! I actually expected our agency to lose it but since they have been making no progress they have decided that they could use all the help they can get. Normally one does not need to go to these extremes but when you are the 1st person in agency history to have the problems we have been having and the agency happens to drop the ball for an ENTIRE month all other rules go to the wind. We are hoping that tonight the full document will come through and not just the cover page.......

We also got word today that our rep in Ethiopia has a meeting tomorrow with the orphanage to get copies of the documents. Since the documents are in Oromo and Amharic they will take a couple days to be translated. They hope that we will have a copy by early next week. We are hoping that our rep is then able to start investigating and find out where exactly the error occurred and what needs to be done to correct it. We are we can get this information in and back to Nairobi sooner than later to avoid the ever dreaded DNA test. We are still trying to find out if our agency provides them with enough information in a satisfactory amount of time if they would proceed without the DNA test.

We are not wanting the DNA test as it is a very time consuming test that really will provide no relevant information.

So think positive thoughts and lets hope things start progressing in a much more timely fashion.

Will you do your part to help out?

Please support the call for better resourcing at the Canadian High Commission in Nairobi.

More information can be found at http://www.ccrweb.ca/documents/Nairobireport.pdf

"I believe it is important that we advocate this time for those whose voices are not as loud as our voices. If Nairobi is better resourced, which is what we are asking for, it could potentially benefit our Ethiopian children as well. Here are the simple steps that we can follow to take action on this issue":

1) Cut and paste the letter at the end of this post into an email.

2) Send the email to the Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, Jason Kenney, at Kenney.J@parl.gc.ca and Minister@cic.gc.ca

3) Copy your own Member of Parliament on the email. Using your postal code, you can find her/his email address here.

If you feel strongly about this issue, there are a couple of easy additional steps that you can take to help ensure our message gets heard:

4) At this time, the Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration is actually studying the issue of immigration application process wait times. The long visa wait times of the High Commission in Nairobi in particular have recently been raised at Standing Committee hearings. Please copy the following Standing Committee members on the email to the Minister as well:
tilson.d@parl.gc.ca; BevilM@parl.gc.ca; chowo@parl.gc.ca; StcyrT@parl.gc.ca; Calandra.P@parl.gc.ca; GrewaN@parl.gc.ca; ThilaE@parl.gc.ca; karygj@parl.gc.ca; Wong.A@parl.gc.ca; DykstR@parl.gc.ca; Mendes.A@parl.gc.ca; Young.T@parl.gc.ca

5) Please call Minister Kenney’s office to ask CIC to act on the recommendations from the Canadian Council for Refugees report on the immigration application processing times at the High Commission in Nairobi. The Minister’s office can be reached by phone at 613-954-1064. This is a very quick and simple call to make. The person you speak to will simply note your comment, but all phone calls they receive are logged and the more calls the Minister’s Office receives on an issue, the more likely the issue will be viewed as a priority and addressed.

Here is the letter for copying and pasting / personalizing”:

Subject line: Application processing times at the Canadian High Commission in Nairobi

Dear Minister Kenney,

I am the parent/grandparent/friend of a child adopted from Ethiopia. I have read of the Canadian Council for Refugee’s report on the Canadian High Commission in Nairobi, which processed my child’s visa.

I am distressed to learn of the High Commission’s processing times for its most vulnerable applicants. I am embarrassed as a Canadian to read in the report some of the personal stories of refugees and their dependants who are enduring significant hardships, and in some cases tragedy, as they wait years for their applications to be reviewed by your clearly overburdened visa officers in Nairobi.

The Canadian Council for Refugees says that, “immigration officers working there are asked to do the impossible.” I could not agree more and want to lend my voice to encouraging the Government of Canada to stop the neglect of this overseas mission and the many very vulnerable individuals and families it serves.

CIC-Nairobi’s processing times for refugees and refugee dependants are approximately double the average for all of Canada’s overseas missions. In fact, CIC-Nairobi’s processing times for almost all other immigration categories lag dramatically behind the global average for Canada’s overseas missions. This situation is hardly fair or just, especially given that it impacts some of the most at-risk people Canada’s overseas missions serve.

I would like to strongly encourage Citizenship and Immigration Canada to act on the following recommendations from the Canadian Council for Refugee’s report:

- increase resources (both human and material) at Nairobi;
- increase processing targets allocated to Nairobi;
- reduce the number of countries served by Nairobi by using or creating other visa posts in the region to take on some of the burden of Nairobi; and
- review refugee and immigration programs to ensure that access is equitable and that Canadian anti-discrimination and anti-racism policies are fully respected.

Your spokesman’s recent comments regarding the High Commission’s processing times seem to indicate that the Government of Canada feels no sense of urgency to address this situation. While acknowledging that this region is beset with many special obstacles, Canada is clearly failing to meet these unique challenges with unique solutions. The only conclusion that can be drawn is that those with the power in Ottawa to address this situation simply do not care to make resourcing decisions that would better support and protect vulnerable families.

In closing, I urge you to extend our Canadian values of fairness and compassion to vulnerable waiting families and to search for solutions to the issues currently facing the High Commission in Nairobi.

Sincerely,
