Our Journey

We invite you, our friends and families to follow along with us on our journey to bring home the newest additions to our forever family. I believe everything happens for a reason and I know that the newest additions to our familiy are out there somewhere waiting for us to be matched. We have followed our hearts and that has lead us on a wonderful journey to a wonderful country "Ethiopia". We look forward to the day when we are able to finally go and meet in person and bring our littleones home forever.

We hope you can all be here with us through the tears and laughter as we move through our adoption journey.

love & kisses

Positive thoughts...

I know I have asked many of you in the past to pray for us or send us positive vibes...well, right now we need this more than ever. There is a CHANCE that things could change for the better in regards to our children's visas and in the next few days we should hopefully know more. I don't want to chance things by saying too much, but this could decide whether we will have to proceed down the long path of DNA or not.

For the sake of our children's futures please pray (or send good vibes) for us!

Thank you!
Donna and family

New recipe

I realized that lately I have only been posting about sad, depressing, bad news so I am going to try to post a little more often and about other things that are happening in our lives.

The other night (actually a couple weeks ago...not sure how the time has slipped by so quickly) I decided to try out a new recipe that I had seen in the Kraft Canada magazine. I was quite impressed with how it turned out and how good it tasted.....now know that I very rarely follow a recipe to the T and did change several things to make it an actual meal in one.

Tah Dah....

What a week this has been

Let's just say this this has not been one of our better weeks as a family. Last weeks news of further verifications along with our DNA request for the children was a little more than I was able to handle. The stress from the last little while was more than I think I could handle and in turn made me physically sick. I have been extremely emotional this week and can cry at the drop of a hat. The thought of having to go through with the DNA testing and the realization that this will likely take 6 months more was more than I was able to process. Tuesday was Almaz's 8th birthday and while we did bake a cake for her I was unable to even make it through supper. We did however manage to sing her happy birthday on Wed.
Today we had a meeting with our MP's office and armed with Imodium, gravel and aleve I was able to make it out of the house and advocate for A&A. I am very happy to say that the meeting went very well and even though I was not able to hold back my tears as I had promised myself I would we where able to tell our story, provide the facts and details of our case and we where heard! He is onboard and believes it is time for our kids to come home. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! He is contacting the ministers office Monday morning and we hope to hear back from him by the end of next week. I am hopeful that he can get some straight answers for us and hopefully get us some action.
I know I have asked you before, but PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE pray for us that we can find some resolution to this situation.
And now, I am off to go and find myself yet another box of kleenex.

The wait continues........

All I can say at this point is the wait continues. We don't know alot but do know that they have more verifications to do.....and it could take up to 3 months......still trying to figure this one out and what to do next!

Now we wait

An email was sent on Friday to CIC with the information explaining the date discrepancy so now we wait and see if they will be satisfied with this information or if they will still want to proceed with the DNA test. We are really hoping that this information will be enough to answer their questions and they will proceed with issuing the Visa.....one can hope right!?!?!?!
